Is the Olympic Games positive or negative?

As we know, the Olympic Games has a long and glorious history, which has been with us for centuries. In the past, it was only suspended by the world wars. But recently Games of the Tokyo Olympic which should have been held in 2020 has been postponed until 2021.

People’s views on the Olympic Games vary from person to person. Some hold the attitude that people from different countries can make friends through the Olympic Games. Besides, the host nation can gain huge economic benefits because its tourism and international trade can get a boost.

However, the Olympic Games is also a two-edged sword. Due to the influences of the COVID-19, foreigner can’t go to Japan as easily as before. But Japan’s government has spent a large amount of money on the Olympic Games. Thus its economy suffers a lot. Personally, the Olympic Games is still important. We should hold it as long as we play sports.(163字)
